# What is Virtual Brainwear?

Virtual Brainwear is a device emulator designed to assist you in developing applications compatible with EMOTIV’s hardware (EMOTIV Brainwear®). Virtual Brainwear can help you simulate a variety of different device states and data streams with just a few clicks — eliminating the need to set up different states using the physical device and saving you time.
