Similar to your physical EMOTIV Brainwear, Virtual Brainwear has several states: these include created, powered on/off, connected/disconnected and configured. All of these states can be controlled via the dropdown list accessible by clicking the More icon on the virtual device panel in EMOTIV App.

Creating a new virtual device

To create a Virtual Brainwear device:

  1. Click on Devices in Emotiv Launcher,

  2. Click on Add a Virtual Brainwear device —this will bring up a virtual device configuration dialogue.

  3. To create a new virtual device, select the device you would like to emulate (e.g. Insight) and click on the Create Brainwear® button in the virtual device configuration dialogue.

  4. When created, your virtual device will appear in the Virtual Devices list under the Devices tab.
